JD 755

Im looking at a JD 755, 2wd with a front blade. I was wondering what people thought about them and the value. The tractor has 1900hrs. Anybody have any experience with them plowing snow.

I have a 855, 2WD and a 70 loader. I sure like mine, but it is mostly used with the 72" belly mower. I also have a 4310 4WD and the traction component of the 4wd over a 2wd is pretty significant.

I would be concerned that you could get enough traction/ballast in order to move snow as you would like. I think you would have a better chance using a loader to push/plow, then lift and dump when the going gets tough. Tough little tractors, just run the engine a bit after hard use to let it cool down sufficiently.

I have a 750 4wd w/ loader and it works great in 4wd. In 2wd it does not do so good. The 755 has smaller diameter rear tires than a 750. I don't think it would work much better than a garden tractor pushing snow.

I had a 755 4x4 with turf tires and a rear blade. First good snow which was wet I couldn't even barely get out of the garage ! Got it back in and parked it then got my old M JD and plowed snow with it. That M is very slow backing up but it goes good. I now use a wlak behind snowblower and it is much faster.
You are going to NEED tire chains for sure on that 755. The tires are too wide for flotation so they can't dig in.

A model 750 with ag tires in 4x4 is virtually unstoppable on snow and ice. They are very well balanced. I remember driving ours up the lane which is really steep on solid ice. You could of never walked up it ,but that tractor went right up. I never had it stuck where the diff lock couldn't get me out.

I had two 755"s and they"re just not enough tractor for a pushing blade. The 2 wd with turf tires will be virtually useless. I"d opt for a heavier tractor....ie 850/950 later larger size compacts....preferrably a small farm tractor 2040, 1020, 1530 would be better....

We have a 755 at my place of employment. Perhaps it is a lemon? It has been to the dealer numerous times to repair a fuel problem that has still yet to be repaired. If you work it hard in warm weather just be ready to stop to let it cool down. The cooling capacity is marginal.

It is a gutless wonder. The older guys there say it was from day one.

At 990 hours it is headed to the salvage yard with a serious transaxle failure.

In my mind they are a worst buy, however I've only ever used one.

We replaced the 755 with a 4100. It is actually able to pull itself. A much better tractor.

hum ? I had both a 4100 and a 755 Hard to compare as it wasn't side by side , but I thought they were kinda equal ? I liked the hydro on the 755 better as it was quicker and I think went faster in reverse.
My 755 dynoed 22 hp.

I still kinda think my JD M would handle a 5 foot mower better and seemed to not use anymore quanity of gas then the others did diesel.
