JD 7700 rear axle

Did the 7700 have 2 different rear axles? A friend has a 7700 with the low axle with 1100-16
tires on it which makes the rear of the combine quite low.

He"d like to get a higher one if available.

Jim, does your friend's combine have 11.00-16's or 11L-16's? They are two totally different tires. The 11L's are much, much shorter. Mike

My 7700 has the adjustable axle and it rides low in the back also, but it also has the llL -16 instead of the 11.00-16 it should have. Some 11.00-16 are really tall and some not as tall but the 11L -16 are usually always short. One other option is to hit the salvage yard, some of the 6600 and 7700's had a 20" 6 bolt wheel, or even the wheels off most feed wagons are 20", and use 9.00 -20 truck tires, this would give the lift you need.

The other picture is of my brothers 7720 it has 24" rears, but it has 8 bolt wheels. If i remember right i think the 8 bolt hubs will fit onto the axles on the 6600/7700's. If you could get the 8 bolt hubs, 24" tractor lug tires/wheels from a salvage yard it would give the 7700 a whole different look and stance.
