JD 7710 timing and fuel

I own a stock 7710 w/a Denso mechanical pump. How would I go about changing the injection timing for more power and adding more fuel? I just dynoed the tractor at 157hp but I know that these engines can make up to 300+. This will not be a pulling only tractor but I wanted to play with fuel and timing to get the most out of it in stock form. I also have a straight pipe on it. Thanks for your time.

If it's the Denso EP-9 pump good luck getting more fuel out of it. That model does not have the extra fuel delivery capacity like Bosch P pumps do. Easy way to describe the EP-9, has no brass plugs or bolt on cover plate under the camshaft, just two screws that hold the center cam bearing in place. No matter what pump, if the engine speed is staying close stock leave the timing as is. Advanced timing is not needed.

Would be easier to just look under the pump body, EP 9 model pump is slightly larger than the Bosch A size, but smaller than the P size. It has the retard start plungers like other JD pumps do, but does not have the extra fuel capacity available before getting into the retard start notch when setting the full load rack travel. Rack is moved full travel for starting only, take it too far setting full load and fuel delivery goes down and timing is retarded, making the power fall off..
