JD 830 Engine Speed Control

Having problems adjusting engine speed control.
When we adjust throttle rod to able engine to shut off the max engine speed we can then attain is 1200rpms in the fast idle position. We have adjusted the fast idle screw to not restrict this control in the fast idle position. Want to attain 1250 to 1275 for fast idle.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had this problem with my 80 as well, I could get full RPMs, but not shut it off, or I could shut it off and not get full PRM

You will have to make some internal adjustments in the governor linkage, it's not too big a deal really. You have to remove a couple expansion or freeze plugs but not all that bad. It's in the JD service manual, and it describes it rather well. I can't find my I+T to confirm that one.

I had a guy put a new gasket on my 83o diesel fuel injector pump. When I got it back it would not Idle low, it idled high. How to idle diesel injection pump to get it back idling low?
