These kits were a work of art, well thought out and ahead of Deere engineering. Deere would do better with more solid engineering ideas like Kinze has and less electronic crap that will let a tiny processor render a large piece of equipment hopelessly staled ....

Seen one of the nicest 8630 w/Kinze conversion but 30in tres were 10/15% tread bring 35K at auction which according to Machinery Pete was a record. As nice as they were engineered I still would prefer a Steiger/IH due to knowing the rest of tractor was built for that much power.A few are still working in our area with not many problems.

Yes the woodruff key on the top shaft drive collar is the weak link.We bought an 8630 new and worked it hard, twice we had something tied to the top of the quick hitch pulling "extremely hard" and lifted the front wheels off the ground while pulling (yes the rest of use were backing away from it) and both times it sheared that collar key. There are no Kinze kits around us, we thought about one back when they came out, but never acted on the thought.

We can thank the people who voted for and those who didn't vote against the nanny state and safety nazis.

EPA and CAFE

Do you think diesel engine manufactures would be running anything other than Bosch P pumps if emission specs were limited to Tier I levels?

Sad and true, the people who think they are saving the world are sending it into a tail spin.
