I'd investigate and remove whatever is in there. Chances are it will block off the flow of gas to the fuel bowl at a very inconveneient time.if left in the tank.Took the gas tank off my 1951 A and there is a rattle in it as if there is a ball or something of that nature in it. Is that common or should i attempt to remove it?
Working on replacing my fuel tank for a 2020, could be a ball off the sending unit, when i took the old sending unit out, the ball and arm were almost ready to separate from wear and diesel. Got some great advise on this site about aftermarket units not being completely same size. Checked it out thoroughly and in purchasing a unit from E-Bay, it was a bit different dimension wise. Probably going to make it work with some blocks to shim it in. Serial number on new tank will help, most of info i got from dealers and JD parts was somewhat useful, but i do not think inventory was available. Saying this in case you choose to replace existing tank. They can get a lot of gunk in them over time. Good Luck.Took the gas tank off my 1951 A and there is a rattle in it as if there is a ball or something of that nature in it. Is that common or should i attempt to remove it?
