I have a question! I cant seem to figer out how to check the trans/diff oil level on a styled JD A. I looked at the user manual and could not find anything. could someone help me out?

On the right side of the rock shaft housing you will see a large square nut, remove this plug and fill untill fluid is at the bottom of the threads.

The manual calls for 140 weight gear oil. If you run the standard 90 weight gear oil most other transmissions and rear ends use, you will hear more gear noise, but it does work in there just fine.

So will a mix of your original gear box full of 140 weight with added 90w to fill it on up.

Just to be sure, the transmission fill point is at a 45 degree angle just under the axle on the right side in the rear.
