JD Cultipacker Wheels?

Group,

I just purchased a old JE cultipaker and when unloading I broke a wheel. Casting number is B-11696-B Smooth edge and ID is approx 4 5/8 OD from my research is 18 but mine are about 17 Any ideas where I can find some of these? I didn't pay a lot for this but I really don't want to have to scrap it if I can find some replacements. Also I would love to know the model of this unit.

Any way you can post a pic? The Deere 925 roller harrows used the same rolls as the Deere cultipacker. If they are what you have I do have some extras. Tom

Tom,

I will try to post a photo of it later but I am 90% sure it is a F920 series, From doing some searching on e-bay after I posted the first question I found a manual for what I thought I had and then went to JD parts to look up that model. When I did the wheel on it has the same part # B-11696

What size are the Brillion Packer wheel diameters. As they have a 4 inch and a smaller axle on them the smaller was the older models from what little I know.

What rod do you use to wend it? I am pretty sure I have all the parts. I if Tom's Tractor and toys have one I will keep this for a spare.

Not hijacking the thread, but since wheel specs are in this post, why does the wheel have a ridge (protrusion) down the center? Why not just flat? I use a piece of pipe, commercially designed, manufactured and sold for the purpose, that serves my needs well. What would the ridge buy me?

Yes and on some the rib is smooth and some slightly notched the later being later design. And as far as I know anything that will weld cast iron.

Breaks the clods better the ring also presses the seed in better and the furrow left buy the ring helps hold the soil in place from wind and water erosion
