JD dealer paint

Getting ready to start assembling my '41 H. I don't know much about painting so I'm asking. Should I go with the dealer's paint? Which color, classic or ag and turf green? I'm going to get the main case hot-tanked due to internal crud and rust that I can't sandblast so what about primer? I can do some blasting. Besides the dealer, who makes an accurate color match. I'm not after perfection but I want to come out with a nice job.

i always use John Deere paint. I don't see much difference between the Classic or Ag green. Put some hardener in, and use Enamel reducer from a paint supplier with the correct temp. range.

The paint job would last a lot longer if you would use automotive paint. I know it's more expensive but if it keeps you from having to do that job again it's worth it. There are places online you could get the color code where the paint jobber could get the color right. If there is any small part where the original paint is good they can also color match it like a paint store does with house paint. If the tractor has a lot of crud on it you might go over it with oven cleaner and then power wash it. Then use the tractor to see where the crud is coming from and replace some gaskets or seals. Nothing worse than to spend a lot of time fixing up a tractor only to see it covered in crud shortly afterwards.
