Hello and thanks for reading my post!

I was wondering if anyone had any stats on how many JD H"s were made with what options. Just seeing how rare mine is!

Its a "41 with PTO, Electric start, and Hydraulics. All of the ones that I have seen have a combination, but none I"ve seen have all 3.

Thanks for your time!

Supposed to have been 17,341 H tractors made in 41. Can't breakdown the options. Mine is a 41 as well but was manual flywheel start,no hydraulics but when we got it it had PTO,which must have been bad as my grand dad removed it. I have the PTO handle on the tractor yet though..

My SN is 33340. My grandpap bought it long before I
was born with hopes of restoring it. We were going
to work on it but he passed away before we had the
chance.

I bought it off of my grandma and have been slowly
restoring it. Just bought a new mag and have to
order the decals and its done!

I have a 1941 with none of them options. s/n 33960. So i dont know how rare they are

I really like those cast front wheels and seem to remember mine having them when we got it. For some reason, they were replaced with the stamped steel ones. Anyone know the year when the stamped ones became the replacement for the cast ones? I plan to someday get a set of cast ones as every 41 I have seen so far had them on.

The cast wheels were most likely replaced with stamped steel wheels because the cast wheels often cracked. The model H is very light in the front end and with a mounted rear implement (plow), the front wheels often were off the ground/bouncing while working with a rear mounted implement. I believe the wheels went to pressed steel in late 1944 or 45. This information is in Pat Browning's restoration guide....see jdhpubs.com. Also there wewe two types of cast front wheels see link below......
H Cast Front Wheels

The "H" began production with a lighter made front cast wheel which was replaced with a stronger heavier version. The “H” was being built during WW2 and was designed for use with rubber tires only. Because of the war, production was stopped for almost a year (Twice)
At some point tires became hard to come by . The second production halt ended production of the five–hole cast iron H201R Wheel at serial number 47795 (Sept. 29, 1943). When production restarted at serial number 47796 (Oct. 9, 1944), the steel wheel JD1262R took it’s place.
Electric starting and lighting became available at serial number 27000 but was in short supply during the war years.

Optional Equipment available for the ‘H” at various times during production included:
Power Shaft with Shield……………$23.50
Power Lift…………………………..$35.00
Starting and Lighting equipment..….$42.50
Staring equipment Only…………….$34.50
Lighting equipment only……………$22.50
Radiator Shutter (in place of curtain)..$5.25
Long front Axle (“HWH” only)……..$6.00
enjoy your "H", Rich

I have a '41 H that has all three options. Got it fixed up a few years ago and only use it for shows, parades etc., and pulling a small wagon with grandchildren in it.

I have a 41 H with lights, starter and hydraulics with a H1 plow. Also have a 43 HN with starter, lights, hydraulics and pto with a H-200 set of cultivators. Both restored.

Have a '42H that my dad bought new with H4 plows, H-200 cultivators, PTO, Hydraulic, electric start and lighting, and wheel weights front and rear. One of the cast front wheels broke during plowing (we grow rocks here in Southern NH) and was replaced with a pressed steel which, unfortunately, will not accept the wheel weight. Have bought a cast to replace the pressed steel but haven't gotten around tuit yet.

All of the later ('45 and '46) Hs that I have seen have all three options.
