I have recently rebuilt the motor on a JD H I cleaned the carb up with drill bits I bought from Pat Browning and tried to get it running today I have also timed it according to Pats manual. I put the carb on, and the gas tank, to try to start it, I did not put the air stack on, because I didn't think I had to. I had the engine timed and the tractor tried to fire a dozen times or so, but it was like it was not picking the gas up. Please help me anyone.
Thankyou

How's your spark, nice and blue or orange. If it's orange, it's weak. Did you rebuild the carb or just clean it? Maybe it's sucking air somewhere it shouldn't. Is the float set right? Is the gas fresh? All these things can make a difference. Try had choking it by hand and see how much suction you have. Hope I've helped you.

Mark,
You might try pulling a plug and see if it is wet. That would let you know if you are getting gas to the cylinder. While you have the plugs out, lay them on the block and double check the timing. You might have it 180° off. Just a suggestion.
