JD LA Questions

I am going to look at an LA. Owner has sent me some pictures and my question is this-did the LA,s all have the battery brackets welded to the right frame tube? This one has the two little brackets welded on it for the battery box but there is no gen,no starter,no amp guage,no light switch. Also there is no hole on the back of the hood where the amp guage would go.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I'm thinking both of mine have those brackets on the frame but both are hand start.
I also think there is a spot marked on the back of the hood where you knock out for installing the ampmeter.

All the lights, generator, etc. were an option. I have seen frames with the battery box mounts and no battery box many times. I have seen plenty without electric start that have the cover over the starter hole in the block. A friend of mine has one with just lights, no starter. Someone may have stripped it off when it stopped working, could have been ordered that way. I wouldn't call it rare or anything like that though.

Some things to look at, late L and LA look very similar, differences would be JD engine, solid tubes and maybe battery brackets.
