JD LA stall under load

Took my LA for a small ride around the property after changing head gasket. Started right up and ran like it should. Second gear flat ground no problems. Went up a small hill still no problems till I got to top and it died. Started right up but sounded like plugs were fouled. Put new plugs in it and still runs like bad plugs. It starts up and idles beautifully. As soon as any kind of load is placed on tractor it spits and sputters. Load can be as simple as starting off from a dead stop. Removed fuel line from carb and I have plenty of fuel getting to carb. So either it is not getting enough fuel when it needs it or it's electrical, maybe the coil? Any suggestions? I am going to try again tomorrow when it is cool to see if any change.
