I found a JD Lister , 2 row, that bolts on my 1950 "A" ; but the planter boxes are missing. Thought it would be neat to get it back together. Any idea where I could find 2 boxes? Thanks.

Have any pictures? I remember as a kid my uncle used a two row lister on their '46 A JD. It had long hitch bars that ran under the tractor and bolted to the frame of the tractor and was lifted by the rock shaft. I can remember him planting milo with it. I think it is still sitting in the weeds/trees at my cousin's farm but know he wouldn't part with any of it.

I have a couple along with gears attaching parts some stuff I don't know where it would go, but the guy I got it from said it was all there and fit an A B or a G I think. Don't know where you are at as shipping from NM may be cost prohibitive. Can get pics this weekend if you would like. New Mexico is not a bad place to visit lol I'm always willing to trade for something I will use.

I have a complete 223 planting attachment on a cultivator that has good boxes. Just needs cleaned up. I started taking it apart to restore last winter and got sidetracked and I know I will never get back to it.

A lister is a type of planter that has large furrowing plows in front of the planting units. They were commonly used in dry regions for planting corn, milo (sorghum), and cotton. By placing the row at the bottom of a freshly-opened trench the seed was placed in moisture and the seedlings were more sheltered from hot wind. This type of planter was popular in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and surrounding areas.

I never saw crops such as cotton, corn or milo planted in the bottom of beds in N Central TX but they were planted on top of beds because it was believed the raised beds had higher soil temperature. My D ad always planted on the top of beds. He took me out of school to operate a tractor with RC cultivators to plow the beds in front of tractor with planters.

best picture I could find on one, lister planter would really put that seed down in a deep furrow,

Will post pics on Sunday or Monday when I get out to the farm, it's just a lot of pieces but I'm sure someone might be able to help put it together, or maybe needing some parts.

here is my Farmall middle-buster planter. I converted it from a four row.
I use it to plant my garden.
Dad called it middle buster and that's the name I picked up.
