JD M Clutch

just replaced clutch,pressure plate , release brg and pilot brg, after reassembly unable to adjust pedal free play to 1.5" instead least I can adjust to is 2.5" and clutch will not release . any ideas ? ps flywheel was machined to clean up friction surface

The clutch adjustment is on a cam. Just move it a little at a time and see if you can make it work. Good luck!

is your throughout bearing installed backwards?

The clutch fingers need to be set with the JD7 guage after the clutch is bolted into the flywheel. Your problem is likely the finger height is too low, hence you don't have enough pedal adjustment to compensate.
