JD M hydraulics

I'm wondering about the possibilities of adding additional hydraulics to my 51 M. I know the system isn't all that complex, or powerful, but I'm not looking at doing anything high flow or heavy lifting. Just looking at one small cylinder. Could even be single acting. Have done a bit of searching, but came up with nothing. I'm sure that it can be done, as I believe I've seen some with loaders.

Anyone have any pointers, or know of any posts that would be helpful?

I've "broken" the TOM circuit on my 40 to add a double acting cylinder and valve.
Break the pressure line where the clutch pedal rests. Route a new line to your valve.
From the valve, run a new discharge line to the TOM.

Valve to cylinder lines as you desire.

Dalton Hydraulics was my mail order source - will make lines to order.

Sounds easy enough. I figured it would be something like that. The lines on my M are probably needing to be replaced anyway. They are getting pretty tough.

I put a live pump off a 300 on my H, would think you could put a pump off 400 on your M

You will need the three piece pump to add a cylinder.

I see now. Will check tonight to see which one I have. What is the difference between the two piece and three piece? I mean, other than the number of pieces. What functionality is different? People talk about changing the older ones to the newer ones. What is involved in that?
