Does anybody know a book or books published that would show all or most of the john deere M or mainly MT series tractor attachments available? Thanks
If you find something to that effect, please find a way of getting ahold of me as I went from having 1MT to now having four as the next door neighbor at ninety four wanted them to go to somebody who would work them versus forget about them in a shed. Sadly twenty years ago, he sold all of the attachments and implements when he retired. thank youThe Better farming or Modern farming catalogs that John Deere put out would be a good source, find one from the era when the M's or MT's came out. They usually listed all the attached & pull type implements for all the models. I've got a couple here someplace. They are on E Bay quite often.
Bravo F&F one of the best comments I ve heard ,bravo at you got some to go look for you ,that’s cool , and this a very interesting edification , in story for sure ,can’t wait for another post ,really ! Good luck .Here is a good one!
I called the large John Deere dealership on US highway 51, Westfield, Wisconsin talked to the parts guy who had never heard of a John Deere MT after working there for twelve years.
He had to go into a storage room with me on the phone. He found the complete mechanical books in a dust covered corner on the MT as his computer showed nothing.
I have a complete set now even more detailed than his of all the service manuals, along with operational manuals and rebuild manuals from another supplier that's over seven inches thick way out of my league alot of it being a carpenter, not a mechanic.
He told me if I could give him a part number on the tractor he might be able to get a part, but as far as any type of implements or attachments to the tractor probably not.
Well, after this new fleet (after 144 years here of never seeing a deere on the property) of 4 sheded mt's now seeing daylight, and surprisingly, starting up with the most interesting engine sounds after the mechanic that I know a ford guy running through them, saying they are perfectly operating machines kid, me at 64, put them to work.
Now the search begins.
They are definitely not parade machines yet at this time, but I think they might be conversation pieces working on two U.S. highways with nothing but extremely large, massive equipment running the fields near them.
John Deere has a historical department ,give them a call ,just thought of , put them to work for you. Here is a good one!

You wouldn't happen to have a link for that on.Ebay would you? Thank you. MikeThe February-March 1997 issue of The Review (long gone and published by Two-Cylinder) had matched working implements for the M and 40 Series as the feature article. This article was later reprinted in Two-Cylinder, but I don't remember when. I want to say sometime within the last 15 years, but my concept of time these days isn't what it used to be. There's a copy of the Review in question on Ebay right now, but I can't believe the asking prices for these magazines.
"The John Deere Styled Letter Series, 1939 to 1952" by J.R. Hobbs is another source, but out of print. There's a comprehensive list of matched working implements for the MT, but not as many pictures.
Any info for leeds on implements would be great as I put these shedded work horses into the light of day as sitting in the dark 20 years running again and now the equipment search is underway to run deere stuff vs my ford stuff behind them doing small stuff the 1855s in the fields are to big for.John deere Modern Farming for the years of the M and MT. That would be 1947-1952.
I have all those books or catalogs here or on the way now owning 4 JD MTs. If you need some specific information, I can screen shoot it and send it to you at no charge.Does anybody know a book or books published that would show all or most of the john deere M or mainly MT series tractor attachments available?
