Inherited my Stepdads JD MX10 mower. The blades are in poor shape. I believe he was cutting stones instead of grass. Are the blades hard to change out? How do I get them loose and put new blades on it? Thank you for your help.

I have a MX 8 and an pretty sure they are almost the same--The easiest way to change them is to hold the bolts thru the 2 holes behind the gearboxes on top of the deck with a socket and a extension and put a impact on the nuts or vicey-versa. You can do it by yourself but is a lot easier to have someone hold them from up above. They are a well built cutter and will take abuse better than that farm store junk.---Tee

You can download a Free operator's manual at the following link. It appears from viewing operator's manual blade replacement instructions nut is accessed through hole in deck. When reinstalling blades check for correct blade cutting edge direction.
