JD wheels on a 69 4000?

My rear wheels are shot and so are my tires. I found a set of 18.4-30s on JD wheels with 8 on 8 BP and 6" center hole. My wheels are 8x8 with 5.5" center hole. Will the JD wheels fit with a larger center hole?

Yes but it sure would be embarrassing to be running around with yellow wheels. Kubota rims fit too but they're orange.

I'd paint them before I ever put them on. Do I need to have a spacer made to fill that gap between my 5.5 center and the 6" center?

No, if the lug pattern matches, the lug nuts will keep the wheels centered if they are properly torqued.
