JD410D Backhoe

JD410D backhoe is not running right. It won"t start right away but does after some cranking. I replaced fuel filter, made sure fuel lines are open and drained water out of tank, (didn"t see any). Once its running it surges sometimes and then seems to run OK. But upon starting it again later, does not start right away like it should. I use this machine a couple hundred hours a year and its always been fine. All I can think that is left is the injection pump. Now thats expensive. Thanks for any advice.

Check to be sure that fuel is not draining back to tank. Also verify fuel delivery from lift pump. If it has rubber lines could be sucking air.

Thanks for the reply, I've alrady checked fuel pump, working fine, I'll check rubber lines today and also bleed the injectors. Thanks

Been testing and can't keep air out of fuel filter. Fuel pump is sucking air and putting it in fuel line. Am putting new one on tomorrow and will update. Thanks to all who have replyed. GHJ
