On my JD4240, when using the PTO if I have the tractor on idle the PTO will kick out (Lever will go into disengage position). Also, I noticed that if at idle and I press the clutch peddle in and then release it the transmission pressure light will blink on and off. It does not do this if the RPM's are just a little higher. I assume that there is a oil leak in the clutch area?????

Last May I had to change the B range gear, while I had the tractor open I replaced the transmission pump lines O-Rings. When complete; I checked all my pressures at the test port as per the Tech manual and everything was right where it belonged.

Yes, there is a new hydraulic filter and oil last may.
The transmission screen was spotless last May too as I replaced the brakes about 5 years ago.

I know I need to check my pressures again, but looking for any ideas on the PTO issues?

TIA

On QR trans pto control arm utilizes an engagement piston that over time this piston can bend the control arm not allowing piston to lock pto linkage in correct "on position". I had that occur yrs ago on a 4240 before I traded it in on my 4255. This problem can be corrected by R&R of clutch control valve housing & R&R of the bent arm.
