Quick question. Why is it when I engage the pto on my 70, the fluid leaks out of the plug?

Too full because the pro shaft transmission seal is leaking. Drain , flush and fill . Ordinary every day transmission sae90 gear oil ruins pto clutch and brake fibers.

Take a look at the diagram below.

Note the oil seal (Key 8).

Had the same problem with transmission gear oil leaking into the PTO clutch housing on "Vernon" our 56 Model 70.

When removing either the plug on the clutch housing or plug on the clutch cover, transmission gear oil would pour out.

Replaced the oil seal during last Winter and eliminated the problem.
