Jetstar 3 Super Thermostat

1967 JS3 Super gas. Is it necessary to drain the coolant in order to access/remove/replace the termostat? I assume it is located in the top hose, near the radiator tank.
Also, can anyone provide me with the part number for the proper replacement thermostat? I cannot seem to find a part number offered in various parts catalogues.

Thanks!

The online Parts Book shows part number 10A15861 which is replaced by 10V15861. Price is about $43.

It shows as in the top hose at the tank. You will need to drain coolant below it, unless your radiator is real low.

I am working on a jet star 3 and it has no thermostat. Unless you’re saying it’s in this top hose. ?
I had that hose off and nothing was in it.

I actually have no idea where it is located or if it even has one. I just assumed that it has one, but not certain of that. I also just assumed it was in the top hose, but not certain of that either. Since I wasn't sure if coolant needs to be drained, I have not yet removed anything.

i am also trying to find head gaskets. they ask me V 206 or 206 ? dont know what the V is about.
Can usually reuse old head gaskets if not damaged. You have to change seal on oil tube that feeds rockers. Agco should have most parts.
