A little orange tractor followed me home from the auction and it has Jim Dandy decals on it. Can any readers enlighten me? Itlooks like an Economy or Power King. Thanx, Fred

Fred,
It is a Economy built unit. They seem to be a lighter grade of tractor than the Power Kings. Yahoo has a Economy/Power King group with tons of info and knowledge available.

Jim Dandy was a small verison of the big brother economy. Tractor with have 16" wheels instead of 24" Also, they are pretty quick in the gearing. Still very easy to get parts!

Post the serial number and I'll tell you what year it is. The Jim Dandy was a little smaller than the Power King. Depending on what year it is, it may have actually used the same frame as the Power king. Later years you couldn't hardly tell them apart but the earlier ones had a single channel frame. Most Jim Dandys had 8" front wheels and 16" rears. The Power Kings had 12" fronts and either 16" or 24" rears. Jim Dandy's had anywhere from 9hp to 14hp, again, depending on how new or old it is.
