John Bockwitz narrow front 6030

Does anyone know what happened to this tractor? I am looking into putting a narrow front on my 5020 and am looking for folks that have info on John's old tractor. I would assume that the steering motor/pedestal is from a 4020 with modified rails and front bolster? The modification looks simple enough from looking at the parts manual. Yes, I understand it is all custom and that is fine by me. My tractor has turned in to a puller only now. I would like to have some verified info from those familiar with the tractor. Thanks in advance!

I have not made a conversion like that,,but it should not be that difficult,,a sturdy adapter plate on each side for the steer motor,, the steer valve that is on the 6030 will work with a 4020 steer motor..

Tim, that is my thoughts exactly. The valve just needs to be 2 way flow. I will get 2 precision spacers machined, drill the frame rails, and bolt it on. Getting the front casting modified would probably be the most custom part unless I fab something up out of plate. Need to keep cast though to still be somewhat stock appearing. Trying to run it in semi-farm stock classes.

here is one i saw on line this morning..

I have a lot of questions about the one in the picture,,the axles look too small to be a 6030,,the side rails don't seem like 6030,, maybe custom built,,maybe some other can help analyze this pic..I have no idea who it belongs to,, I think it was of a 30-40 series Face book group

Sure looks smaller than my 5020. The pic I saw was from the 70s or 80s and the tractor is sitting on his trailer.

It looks like a normal 6030 to me.

For the row crop version, it may be even simpler to weld a two ram pedestal (like late MM G1000),and reuse the existing cylinders mount.

Due to the low mounted engine and frame, you will have to put very small front tires compared to the horsepower.

Putting 2x 16.5x16 1 on a narrow f4ont will look big. You will need some 900/60R38 on the rear then (a bit expensive)
