John Deere 1010 Carb help

Hello there I am working on a Marvel Schebler Carb for a friend off of his 1010 tractor. I have ordered two kits for it and both were wrong and can’t seem to find the Carb number any help would be awesome on how to figure this out

Should be a brass tag that is stamped with a number. Ron MN

I was afraid of that there isn’t a brass tag on it. The only markings are 3G on the bowl and 202A on the gasket surface where it bolts to the intake

Check with Roberts Carb. You may have to send some pics but they will figure it out.

What is wrong about the kits? What did you use for info to order the kits? Where did you get the kits and what were the part numbers of the kits? I like to know that info up front as there is no sense in me posting what I find if that is what you have, just so you can say what I found is what you have, and it doesn't work.

That said here is some info at the risk of duplicating what you have. According to the 1010 parts catalog it should be a Marvel Schebler TSX860 or a TSX809. Those both use a Standard Motor Products "Hygrade" #1302 basic kit. The Walker brand tune-up carb kit is #778-505A. Those are both basic kits and most local parts stores can get at least one of those brands. If these don't fit and you can't identify the carb or you want more comprehensive kits vendors like Roberts Carb or McDonald Carburetor and Ignition are good sources.
