John Deere 1010

I am adding a model 36 loader to my John Deere 1010 and it does not have remotes . I need to know where I can pipe in for the pressure and return . It looks like I can under the seat but I am not sure which fittings to use . I see in the forum that some one had done this and would send pictures of what they had done. This would be very helpful . Thanks, Rub1979

Still looking for info on how to pipe in for a front end loader on a John Deere 1010 without remotes. Pictures would be be very helpful. Thanks

The open centre 1010 needs an open centre loader valves to be piped in series with the pressure line . Needs a relief valve in there too.
What chassis model , which options and what serial number ? The hydraulics varied .
As for the 1010…….. unless only used as a parade tractor in a collectors shed filled with the 110, 1010, 2010, 3010, 4010 and 5010. It’s best that they be avoided . Unless you are a mechanic with a complete shop , lots of patience and deep pockets .
A gas in the 42,000 plus serial range usually has the fewest problems .
It maybe time to watch the estate sales and find a low hour, 20yr old compact utility tractor with 4x4 , hydrostatic and a loader . It will cost less and be worth than the 1010 over the next 20 years .

My 1010 is serial #52,210 .The loader is a model 35 or36 off a1010 and has the controls. It is an ru tractor. It has another port across from the power steering port but I don’t get enough pressure . Does it have an adjustment on it for the relief valve to increase pressure. Thanks

Here is a link to figure out which chassis and basic tractor info .
Also a list of a various different chapters in the hydraulic section of the parts book .
Odds are as long as a relief valve is protecting the open centre pump . Taping in and out of the rock shaft supply line will work most of the time .

Taping into the power steering will result in low flow , low pressure and no PS while lifting the loader .
Rare to find a 1010 with PS .
Need to get in and out of the high pressure line supplying the rock shaft .
Hydraulic pump has to be protected by a relief valve prior to or in the loader control valves or that rare pump with difficult to find components will bust .
Take these numbers with a grain of salt but they appear to be correct.

  • Early versions
    : Hydraulic pressure is between 1040 - 1080 PSI.
  • Late versions: Hydraulic pressure is between 1450 - 1550 PSI.
  • System pressure: Maximum allowed is 2000 PSI.

I am sorry to sound so inept but I am not sure which line you are referring to. Do you have a specific location. Thanks

Aren't those the models with the sleeves all in one piece so you have to change them all if you need to change one? IF so didn't they have problems with leaks in the sleeves by the sleeve bock or something like that? Always stayed away from the 10 series less than the 3010 and no problem then from what I under stood. Never owned one.

Just FYI, tapping into the main pump lines will work but when you are using a function on the loader no other hydraulics such as the steering will work. I know nothing about the hydraulics on those models such as if there is another way available to connect it.

The line between the hydraulic pump’s divert valve and the rock shaft control valve(s). For the loader valve in and out . Plus a 3rd line from the relief valve to sump .
Small diameter lines are pressure and large diameter lines are the return from sump to pump .

there are over size pistons on the market now

The rock shaft lines are tapped for the loader after the PS diverter valve
