John Deere 1020 Hydraulic Problems

Still have a few questions after cleaning the screen and try to get the filter out. Is there a trick to getting to the filter? Is there some simple way to check that both pumps are at the very least pumping? Also there is a wire on the front pump that is cut. It looks like it is attached under the front pump on one end. The other end is cut so it is a mystery.

Do you have filter cover bolt loose? If so just tap cover if it's stuck. You can turn engine over for a determined period of time with hyd filter removed to measure trans pump output. To check frt pump output one needs a flowrater but one can check pressure with a 5002# gauge. Stand-by should be 2250 psi

Looks like floweaters are not cheap. So going to
install a gauge with cut off as suggested in the
manual. Says to install the gauge just before the t
on the right side if transmission housing. That
should show the front pump pressure output when
the cut off is cut off???
