Trying to get a 1020 running again should there be some pressure behind the fuel pump or does it just dribble out at filter

Yes there should be pressure from the fuel pump when cranking the engine it should squirt out, I have changed fuel pumps on both of mine over the years. You might also take the filter off to see if you get
flow when you crank it over.
