John Deere 110 - installing 38 deck?

Those two brackets (deck height adjustment) underneath the belly of the tractor that connect to the deck gave me fits whe trying to re -install the deck. One or the the other kept coming off. I finally lifted the deck with a bumper jack to hold it at a constant height while sliding the brackets over the pins. There must be a better way! Suggestions would be appreciated.........tx...........RP

I put the lift lever all the way forward, then reach under there and pull down the arms that attact to the Brkts. Put the Brkts on the arms first. Those Brkts from the deck can be turned the wrong way so they will want to pull out of the holes. I just lay down on the floor, hold the deck up alittle with one hand, pop the lift brkts into the holes. Not necessarily that simple at times. lol hope this helps Max

I have a 64 110 with a 38" deck. The 38"deck is a full floating deck, so if its adjusted properly you shouldn"t have to lift it to attach it. The lift should drop far enough to pick the deck up off the ground. I take mine off by removing the belt then pulling the upper pins on the sway bars (the long flat ones closest to the outer edge of the deck) then pull the lower pins on the lift clevis"s where they attach to the deck and last the long pin in the chin plate in the front. To install the deck..... make sure your lift is all the way down and start with the chin plate and long pin...then the lift pins, be sure you lay the belt in place before you attach the lift arms because one of them is inside the belt loop, don"t install it yet ,just lay it there. Then attach the sway bars and put the belt on. Takes me about tens minutes to install my deck. I hope this helps.
