i bought a john deere 110 a couple of months ago. i brought it home and got it started. it seemed to run very well but i tried to start it yesterday and the engine is locked up.could someone tell me what happened? thanks.

Remove the spark plug but make SURE the plug wire is away from any metal so not to jump spark then rotate the engine by hand. It's my bet the float valve stuck open and filled the cylinder with fuel. Also check the oil for fuel contamination.

First things first. Check to see if the starter drive is locked up and engaged. You should be able to see between the tin shroud and the starter drive. Look at the starter drive to see if it is engaged to the flywheel ring gear.
