John Deere 1214 Mower Conditioner

Im new to haying and ranching. I bought a jd 1214 from a retiring farmer. Ive cleaned it up, replaced hoses, etc. Everything works great when cutting in straight line. However, when I turn the main drive chain jumps off. Any ideas?

That machine was built in the early '70's. The lift links that attach the platform to the transport frame are
worn and are allowing the platform to move sideways causing the chain to come off. Later machines had the
hydraulic motor attached directly to the platform back shaft, thus no chain to jump off.

Is sway bar AE34845 still attached between the transport frame and platform frame? It should steady the two
and keep the chain from coming off too.

Thanks for your reply. I tightened up the lift arms and that seems to be keeping the chain from jumping for now. I do not have a sway bar attached. I looked at a pic of it in the owners manual and there does seem to be the little triangle piece welded to the frame in front of the cylinder to attach one. How important is it that the sway bar be on there? Thanks again for your help.

Here is a link to the free online parts book at the JD website. This should illustrate better than an operator's manual.
btw this is the first time in hundreds of questions regarding a machine . That the previous owner processed and passed on the operator's manual to the next owner. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/navigation/equipment/66372/level/2/snp/MjkxNTU6Q0hBUFRFUlsxMDYxOiNCVVNJTkVTU19SRUdJT04sMjUxODojQ0FUQUxPRyw2NjM3MjpFUVVJUE1FTlRd
