John Deere 1530 questions

Couple questions for the brain trust.

Is the hydraulic system on the 1530 open or closed center?

Is the engine one of those that has the sleeves all made together in a deck plate

Closed center, wet liners. Good tractor.

Ditto what Ben stated. individual wet liners in engine

. Keep the anti freeze corrosion inhibitor up to spec . Or coolant will make its way into the oil pan .

Coolant can make it's way to engine crankcase pan even when coolant is monitored per spec's. The cylinder liner lower sealing rings failed on my JD 4255 last year & I had been using JD Cool-Gard in the cooling system since it's introduction.

I watched a perfect one with 1800 original hours and a 145 loader sell for $9500 yesterday. As far as the antifeeze in the oil that is going to happen to all Deere wet sleeve engines sooner or later. Some engines were worse for it than others, cylinder oring failure or cavitation of the lines is just a wear thing. Usually when it happens the rest of the engine is tired and needs an overhaul anyway. Good maintenance never hurts but it can still happen. Tom
