John Deere 2010 question

I see a 1962 2010 advertised, gas engine, tricycle. I am trying to remember which of the 20 series everyone says were bad. Can anyone post an opinion? Also, it looks like it has rear wheel castings with the keyhole like my "A" . Any help appreciated.
Thanks

The 1010 and 2010 where a problem child for JD and I would stay away from them unless you got deep pockets. Ya there ok as long as they run well but working on them is a pain and parts and high if you can find them

The 2010 is the 10 series.

And yes any 1010 or 2010 is best to run away from unless you are just wanting to collect one.

For a tractor to use look at any other models.

The 2510,3010,4010 ten series are all fine if not beat to death and worn out.

Thanks so much-- Thats what I thought I remembered, but I wanted to check. I guess I will stick to my old 2-cyl's I have a pretty good idea of good and bad. Thanks again--

Yep, we had a 2010 diesel. Hercules engine that you
cannot find parts for. For 47 HP it ran strong. Had
to build a fire under it below 32 degrees. Hyd
system, brakes worst problems. OK to collect, NOT to
use and then collect only if you have a parts
source.......
