John Deere 2240 transmission dipstick

I lost original transmission dipstick on John Deere 2240. New dipstick is not available so I purchased an upgraded dipstick and plastic bushing. My question is how do I remove original steel bushing the old dipstick used. Hoping that someone has dealt with this. Any input greatly appreciated.

Your best option might be a used dipstick. Try salvage yards in the east as lots were sold there. Tom
