What's the history behind this, have you owned the tractor for a while & it just started doing this or is it a "new to you" machine? Have you verified it's full of clean hydraulic oil that's not foamy or milky? When was the hydraulic filter last changed? Has the sump suction screen been checked for debris or damage?

Was my grandpas tractor, fluids have not been changed in at least a few years, but it was never used, I’ve just put in hydraulic oil in over time because it leaks a bit, but I have no clue where the sump suction is

but I have no clue where the sump suction is
Henrys60, welcome to YT! Number 13 in the link. JD 2350 parts diagram
That is the old parts catalog but that link is good for the whole tractor. Clicking the “2350 and 2550 tractors…” at the top left will let you see all the parts sections. Did it operate for sometime without making the noise ? If so when did it start?
Do you have an operators manual for it? If not you can download one free at this link.

It’s always made the noise when the loader goes down but it’s gotten a bit worse

I suggest to start hyd dianostic procedures to change hyd filter & check/clean hyd oil suction screen.

Those tractors hold 10-15 gallon of oil so don't think you're going to go in there with a typical drain pan to hold it all. In TX Jims picture that round piece you see with the bolt head sticking out the bottom is the filter housing and that screen is behind that plug shown just unscrew it and screen will be right there.
