John Deere 245

I have a 1992 John Deere 245 that has the Kawasaki 14 hp motor that is starting to get noisy and burning oil. Any recommendations as to where to buy a replacement.

Buy a used parts tractor for 100$ Any 160-175 and many many others have the same motor. A 460 or 420 will be exact fit. They are a dime a dozen out here.bought many tractors for 50$, cheers B

I havent found anything worth buying. The unit is older but has only a four year old mower deck so I dont mind looking for a new or newer motor

IMHO there is no better motor than the old Kawasaki. They are absolutely bulletproof. I have never seen one throw a rod, or even burn up a head gasket. If you live in New England come see me and hook you up.
