John Deere 2cyl Distributor

We pulled my buddies distributor apart today on his A and it is all gummed up inside and the springs are pretty worn. What springs are you guys using in the distributors and where are you getting them?

Thanks!

All the Farmall people use springs from a GM dist recurve kit. Comes with 3 pairs of springs. Use the lightest set. Did it to my Farmall and it worked so I did it to my deere as well. Works good too. Kit should only be $10 to $15.

Thanks for the info. I am a Farmall guy, so I new about the GM recurve kit, but was unsure about its use on a Deere. Thanks again!

I never actually tested pounds of pull, but just by hand, the recurve springs are lighter than the stock farmall springs, and feel about the same as the deere springs.

I send mine to Motec Engineering [Indiana?]It was only 25.00 and he had it back in a week and a half.
