John Deere 3020 steering

I have a 1965 3020 diesel utility my steering problem is it will turn to the left fine and to the right it will turn just past center . If your moving forward turning right it will go right slow . Now when I bleed the steering helm as the book says it will work fine until I shut the tractor off and start it up again it?s back to not wanting to turn right of center . Any ideas would be appreciated.

My 3010 got to where it would do that over time. It would turn a little less to the right every day until after a few weeks,it wouldn't turn right at all. I found out of I switched the lines so it turned left when I turned the steering wheel right,it would fix it. I finally had some hoses made to replace the steel lines and I put a pair of little snow plow type quick couplers in them. When it got bad,I'd switch the couplers, turn the wheels then switch them back. That went on for the last six months or so that I had the tractor before I traded it off. I put the steel lines back on before I got rid of it.

I don't know. It was just something that I discovered worked. If I had kept it,I guess I would have had to find out what was wrong and would have had to have fixed it right, but a jockey had a tractor that I wanted more and offered to trade even money if I'd haul them.

We were having the same issue with our 4020. A few hours to pull the steering valve and send it off to Tim S. It came back in a litte over a week and went back in nicely. Steering like new again.
