I saw one for sale needs work, stuck engine with a weld behind carb, is there any hope for that engine,? or is there another model john deere engine that will fit in a 320s/ Thanks bernard

Run and grab it quick , right now. for any price if it's a slant steer. The parts book on the JD web site will show what M, 40 and 420 parts mix and match.

I didn't say they were a wonderful tractor , they lacked live pto and s five speed.
A 320 is required if collecting the entire 20 series. Scarce compared to 620's.

I've got a 320S. 14th from end of production. It would take a lot of scratch to get me to part with it. I overhauled the engine, new clutch, fixed every leak, new tires and paint, then regular use to keep it happy. Now it's a garage queen, since my brother modernized our haying system. Oh well, it's still a nice little tractor.

They make a nice project. Parts are quite easy to obtain and when you are finished they really stand out at a show. They were not made to do much work as the next size larger was only a few hundred dollars more. Should look something like this when finished.
