John Deere 4 Bolt B

One of my buddies has a B john deere for sale. He doesnt know much about it, and i think that it might be a 4 bolt B. Is there a serial # range that the 4 bolt Bs were made? Thanks

Seems like the first 2000 were 4 bolt but the serial numbers began at 1000 I think i.e. 1000 to 3000. Why worry about serial numbers to determine???? are there 4 or 8 bolts where the pedestal bolts to front of tractor frame????
