John Deere 40 final drive

I have to replace the two pictured parts does anyone have a diagram of the way to remove the axle? Will it slide out the back and then go back in with final drive on the tractor thanks

There's a cap on the back side of the axle. Remove it to access the retaining bolt, washer, shims and bearing. Once that is done remove the outside retainer. You'll have to support the gear as you pull it out.
