john deere 4010 steering

I have a 4010 that the steering had a lot of slop.I had some work done on the steering motor which improved the steering about 70%.
The gentleman that worked on it said the rest of the issue is in the wide front end.He would have worked on it but it is not the a John deere Font end. I have finally figured out it is a schwartz wide front end. where can you get parts. one issue I have is I had a flat tire on the front and while changing it the spindle moved up and down about 3/4". Can this be fixed with new bushings.any suggestions or advice appreciated

I would put the money in a 30 or 40 series front end before any money in a Schwartz.

will the front ends bolt on or have to be adapted. Where do you look or the front ends

I think the 30 series is 6 bolt wheels, some others here will know where the kits are.

The factory wide front was a weakness on those, let alone a Schwartz.

JD 30 & 40 series wide frt axles require a special mounting plate to bolt onto a 10 or 20 series rowcrop tractor.

Your tractor should steer like a Ferrari if it's got a John Deere front end, the steering motor is rebuilt and you get the steering gear rebuilt and adjusted properly. Steering slop can be caused by a multiple number of things from wheel bearings, spindles, ball joints, steering motor, steering valve/gear and hydraulic pressure. Trouble-shoot all of these issues one-by-one, tighten up all the loose members and you'll be good to go.
