John Deere 420 diff oil

Check out drott t340's John Deere 1010 Dozer post. You can find an Operator's Manual for your 420 by taking similar steps as I described for finding his 1010 manual. The will have you lubrication info and much more. You MC manual will be there as well. Both at no charge.

(quoted from post at 15:03:17 04/20/21) Need to change my oil in my 420 jd transmission and differential! What oil does it require?

Straight weight 50 or 60 motor oil is fine . The stuff is rated GL-4 and is yellow metal friendly .

Sorry, I must have mixed up authors when I read across the line, the MC was another's tractor, not yours.

Yellow metal friendly doesn't matter
much on the old Dubuques. There's only
one brass bushing & it's on the pto
shaft.

It is the thought that counts .
