I have what I believe is a 1956 John Deere Model 420T. It's been sitting for many years and doesn't turn on. I'm trying to determine the approximate value. Any help would be appreciated.

Serial number: 91496

Yes, you have a 1956 JD 420 T/Tricycle tractor in addition to the MT (next to it) that you posted in an earlier thread.

When you say it "doesn't turn on" are you trying to say it does not turn over? Have you put a good battery in and tried to crank them?

Value is in the eye of the beholder. To me the value is in the originality that the tractor looks to have and in the set of matching cultivators/side dressers it is paired with. That type of equipment is scarce now a days.

If I found them as you have them pictured I'd give a grand for the 420 just because it is unique still in its working clothes. Some will pay more, some less, but it is a gamble. The engine could be stuck, the transmission shot, and just those rear tires are going to cost some money to get the tractor moving (if the other stuff is ok). The sheet metal looks straight which is a plus.

I'd give less for the MT as I'm more interested in the number series, but the weights on the MT would be worth a few dollars if selling them.
