John Deere 4250

Hey guys, looking for a little info on a 4250. I've ran a across one for a pretty good price but wanted to make sure I knew about this tractor. It's not the one with the German motor in it is it? I checked tractordata and its saying the motor is a turbocharged 466. I guess its the same motor as the 4440's and all the other JD's. It's got a 15 speed powershift in it as well. Almost 6,000 hours on it. 2 wheel drive. Cab. They're asking 16,000 bucks for it. I think its pretty reasonable compared to tractorhouse and fastline. I know you guys know the answer.

What is wrong with the 300 series Dubuque/Mannheim/Saran motor? It's used in industrial equipment and even in the large frame 7000 series rowcrop Waterloo tractors.

That sounds too good to be true !!! Be cautious of a scammer !

4020's are bringing that much it seems. If it is legit I'd snatch it up pronto.

I don't know if theres anything wrong with the German motor. I'm just wanting to know what the 4250 has in it.

The 50/55 series are some of the best model tractors that JD built. I agree with Mike M that with the 15 speed PS or quad range,less than 6000 hrs it sounds about 1/2 or less than what the going rate should be.

I know you'll never admit it but this statement of yours could have been what blkeele was referring to as I think Mannheim is in Germany.
