With tractor OFF unpin the range linkage on the side of the transmission and see if it’s stuck in the transmission or the linkage

You should be able to move the range lever on the side of the case up and down feeling where each range is. You will probably not be able to start it once you shut it off so be prepared for that

It would appear you get to rebuild the transmission or the shift lever assembly. Unfortunately it’s more likely you will go going into the transmission

Doesn’t feel like a tranny problem because my shifting lever moves all over the place it seems like my pressured shift spring is not engaging/disengaging and it’s happend once or twice where it wouldn’t move then i put it and put of gear then it would work again?
Cab mount doughnuts can get squished enough to cause trans shifting problems. Can trans be shifted when engine isn't operating?
yes just not through ranges

My experience with syncro shifts are on new generation but I would imagine it's the same. I would check the pawl item 5 in the picturethat flips back and forth to change drums when you move the lever from range side to gear side. I belive if it doesn't flip it locks the drums. The bushings are on center shaft that the drums and shifter are on. Tear apart the console so you can see the center shaft and it starts to make sense.
