John Deere 530 Baler

I noticed this year while I am baling and I raise the tail gate and drop a bale everything works the way it always has.
But when I lower the tail gate, the belt tension arm stays in the highest position until the gate is down. Then the belt tension arm will lower and then the gate will latch.
In the past the belt tension arm would lower at the same time as the tail gate and then latch.
Has anyone had the problem before?

Are you keeping the tractor engine speed up so you have hydraulic flow, or are you idling down? Keep rpm up!

Did you reduce the hydraulic flow at the SCV for another implement? Turn it back up, if down.

Thanks! You guys are on the right track.
I used an 1850 tractor to bale with. What I did different this year was instead of using my D-17 Allis to cut hay with a NH sickle mower I used a Landpride disc mower. The disc mower uses a one way cyl. so I had to screw a check valve to make one of my remotes one way hyds.
I forgot to change it back to a two way hyd. Remote when I hooked up to the baler. Thanks again for the help.
