John Deere 5300 hydraulic problems

Front end loader, three point lift, and steering suddenly quit working today. I checked the suction screen and it was clean. I was wondering if there were some simple things I could check for. I do not have a repair manual but would be willing to get one if I could determine the repair would not involve splitting the tractor. Thanks for any help provided.

As I recall, steering uses separate pump driven off the back end of the main hydraulic pump. If both systems have failed, I'd be suspecting the drive at the front of the engine that drives the main pump may have for some reason failed.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a pump in the transmission housing that pumps oil to the main oil pump mounted on engine? The reason I ask is I disconnected the input line (or what I thought was the input line) from the main pump and started the tractor but no fluid pumped out of it. Forgive me if I ask any stupid questions. I am trying to learn and understand how the hydraulic system works as I go. I am hoping it is just a shaft sheared but with my luck it will probably not be that simple.

Thanks to everyone for the help. I was able to sleep last night after Leon posted there was no pump located in transmission. I removed the pump this morning and the drive gear shaft was sheared. Is this something that could be rebuilt or would a new pump have to be ordered? I did some search for just a shaft but had no luck. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
