Can you guys tell me what the lever to the
right of the shifter does and the above the
flywheel also how do you check the oil I am new
to Deere's

Right of shifter = PTO (engine off), above flywheel = hydraulic pump (engine off). Engine oil check low in front of belt pulley (knurled knob). Get an owners manual and service manual. HTH

Small lever to the right engages the PTO. Always shut the engine off before moving that lever.

Large lever is the clutch.

Petcock on right side, below clutch pulley for oil level.

It appears that somebody lost the operator's manual. The good new is a call to 1-800-522-7448 will obtain an operators and even a service manual on CD or hard copy.
Until the manual arrives, try to not smash the gears off the pto or the hydraulic pump and run th engine out of oil. b.t.w. tighter is not better with the oil filter.

Shutting off the engine to engage PTO only applies to live PTO. On gear driven PTO you just need to be sure the main clutch is dis engaged prior to moving the PTO lever.

The lever on the left above the flywheel engages the hydraulic pump and the engine DOES need to be off to engage this lever.
And as B & D said, invest in a manual and all your questions will be answered.
